Buses will be leaving the venue 80 minutes prior to the tour starting time.

FEV tour Description

The FEV Group is an internationally renowned service provider in the area of vehicle development. The skill spectrum of FEV includes consulting and the development and testing of innovative vehicle concepts, all the way up to series production. In addition to engine and transmission development, vehicle integration, and the calibration and homologation of modern vehicle powertrains, the development of hybrid and electric drive systems as well as alternative fuels is constantly increasing in importance. The FEV Software and Testing Solutions product portfolio complements this offering by producing cutting-edge test bench measuring equipment in addition to software solutions that help make development more efficient and transfer significant process steps from the road to the test rig – or even to a computer simulator.

On November 5, there will be the opportunity to visit the test field at the headquarters in Aachen.


High reliability and repeatability, a high automatization degree of mechanical processes and the test run itself, automatic docking, filling and draining of the test object and the suitable control and data management system are characteristics of production of hot test facilities provided by FEV. The company covers a wide range of applications starting from small gasoline engines and providing different kinds of handling equipment, from a largely manual operation to fully automatic conveyor and distribution systems.

■ Hot gas test benches for turbochargers
-endurance test, function tests, thermodynamics, stationary characteristics measurement, expanded characteristics measurement with RAM and CCL, measurements with package, component tests, variability examinations, endurance tests, acoustic and PIV measurements
-On the hot gas test bench, the characteristics of all charging systems from the passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle fields can be measured separately and include the package up to a maximum mass flow of 1 kg/s.
